Organizations Overview Joaquin Achucaro (piano) Joaquin Ach & #250;carro:
Born in Bilbao, Spain in 1932. He won the Liverpool International Competition in '59. Since then, he has performed with the Berlin Philharmonic and others in prominent halls around the world. C. Abad, R. Shay, C. Davis, Z. Mehta, Seiji Ozawa, S. Rattle and others are among the world's best masters. During the 2014/15 season, he performed in 12 countries, including North America, South America, Europe and Asia, participated in the Verbier Music Festival, and performed four concertos in Lisbon in 10 days. The CD is joaquin rodrigo's only piano concerto, and he also performed the DVD "Achucaro Plays Brahms" (C. Davis directed by London Symphony Orchestra) and "Farya & Friends" (S. Rattle's Berlin Philharmonic). In 2000, he was selected as a UNESCO Artist for Peace. In 2003, he was awarded the National Medal of Merit by the King of Spain.
