Now it is revealed - the bond between Japan and Basquiat

>
1980s art scene Jean-Michel Basquiat appeared like a comet. Over a period of just 10 years, he has left more than 3,000 drawings and more than 1,000 paintings incorporating new concrete expressive elements. Not only is his work full of intense energy, as if it were a short life of his own, but he also deals with themes such as jazz, hip-hop, African folk lore and race issues, based on the flow of modernist art in the 20th century. As a result, his fame rose more and more after his death, and he became one of the greatest masters of 20th century art.
Basquiat has had a significant influence on art, fashion and culture to this day, and in recent years has been held one after another in prominent museums in London, Paris and other prominent museums in europe and the United States.
Basquiat has frequently visited Japan to hold six solo exhibitions and 10 group exhibitions, incorporating motifs and hiragana into his work that reflected the state of Japan in the 80's, which was in a bubble economy like Yen. In this exhibition, Dieter Buchhart, the world's leading author of Basquiat Research, reveals the various ties between Basquiat and Japan, as well as the unknown influence swayed by Japan's rich history and culture. This is japan's first full-scale exhibition of original Japanese paintings, objects and drawings from all over the world.
