Matsumura Takay (Harp)
Born in Osaka. After graduating from Ai University's School of Music, he started playing the harp. He has performed at numerous concerts, including the French Arles International Harp Festival and NHK FM 'Masterpiece Recital' at harp duo Farfale (butterfly in Italian) with her sister, Eri Matsumura. In 2017, he co-performed "Concertino for Two Harps", composed by The Kyoto City Symphony Orchestra (Conductor, Tatsuya Shimono) and Malecchi. The duo X [iksa] with Violinist Yasutaka Hemi have performed more than 400 performances so far, including overseas performances in Australia, Canada and South Africa. He also worked as an orchestral player and participated in the Kyoto Philharmonic Orchestra's Italy Tour and the Kyoto Symphony Orchestra European Tour. In 2017, as a member of the Takefu Ensemble, he performed at the Venice Biennale and a concert in Slovenia. Yasutaka Hemi (violin)
Born in Matsue. He is good at contemporary works, develops his own playing methods, and has a repertoire of works that cannot be performed by conventional playing methods. He also composes his own music and collaborates with dancers, artists, sound designers and stage actors. He has also performed in European countries, Australia, the United States, Mexico, South Africa, South Korea and Hong Kong, and has been invited to various international arts festivals. For two years from 2001, he was actively performing as a violinist for the Belgian ensemble Champ d' Action, and after returning home, as a violinist for the next mushroom promotion. The duo X[iksa] and Ixa are opening up new frontiers with the harpist Matsumura Tayo. In addition, lectures on contemporary music at Stanford University in the United States have been well received and continue to inspire composers' creative activities. In addition to the solo CD released by Megadisc (Belgium) in 2004, x [iksa] album, he has participated in a number of CD recordings.
