Organizations Overview | Maria Storm (violin) A violinist from Ukraine. Currently based in Chicago, he is active as a solo, chamber musician and orchestra player. He has received tremendous support from the audience and co-stars for his overwhelming expressive power and a variety of varied tones like singing voices. The 2015 season was played as the first violinist of the Petor Yankevich Ensemble (PJE) all over the United States, and the group's CD "(Com)passionate" received high praise. Maria's performances, including her performances in this group, are often broadcast on Chicago FM's classical channel WFMT Radio. He is active as a chamber musician in the duo "Duo KuMa" with pianist Kathy Tag, the Piano Forte Salon series, and the 2pm concert series on saturday. As a soloist, he was a soloist at the Polish and Ukrainian orchestras, as well as the Northwest Symphony Orchestra, the Woquee Gan Symphony Orchestra and the Whiting Park Festival Orchestra in the United States. He also premiered his soloist Spheres G. Prokofiev's work at the Composers Orchestra in Chicago, where he was a concertmaster for four years. After studying at the Luisenko Memorial Music School in Kiev, he studied at the Conservatory in Austria, Poland, before going to the United States. He studied at the Nyenets Conservatory of Music and the Chicago School of Music at Roosevelt University, and then earned a master's degree from the Jacobs Conservatory of Music at Indiana University. Taking advantage of his original ideas and poetic expressions, he has been performing mainly in solo and chamber music. With the theme of his long-standing romanticism, he released his first piano solo album "Romantic Moment" from Rapto Sound in the fall of 2019. In this album, he collaborated with German painter Sonya Kanno and made his debut as a producer (co-producer is Ryohei Seguchi). Graduated from Doshisha Women's University, Department of Music, Department of Piano. Received the Kimiko Matsushita Scholarship, The Ishimura Masako Award, and the Niijima Award. After graduation, he moved to the United States. He holds a master's degree from the Nyenetconservatory and a Professional Studies Diploma. He received his Ph.D. in music performance from the University Center of new York. His doctoral dissertation was nominated for BarryBrook's Best Paper award. Performed at numerous solo recitals and chamber music concerts in New York, U.S. and United States. Part-time piano and chamber music lecturer at Aaron Copeland Conservatory of Music, City University of New York. In 2010, he was the music director and pianist of the Schumann Poet's Love Project at the university's summer music festival. In 2016, a solo recital was held in Osaka with a grant from Doshisha Women's University Music Society's "Keikai". In addition to solo, he is actively collaborating with domestic and international artists and performing contemporary music works, performing charity concerts (New York, Chicago, Kyoto), Through performances at the U.S. Consul-General's residence (Kobe), he is engaged in activities to promote international exchange and cross-cultural understanding.
