Orchestra, Chorus, Dance.
Miracle spectacle given by a total of 350 people! <<>>
Ballet "Ninth Symphony" is an unparalleled scale stage in which the genius choreographer Maurice Bejarr expresses the grand symphony of St. Beethoven with his philosophy. More than 80 dancers, orchestras, solo singers and choirs are on stage. It is truly a spectacle that brings together the power of 350 artists in total.
The premiere was held in 1964, when the Tokyo Olympics were held. In order to become a place for a "festival" that involves not only ballet-loving audiences but also a wide variety of people, it was performed by choosing a venue that could accommodate a large number of people, and attracted the audience at outdoor historical festivals such as Piazza San Marco in Venice, the Verona Arena and the Mexico Olympic Stadium.
In dance, the number of dancers is required, as well as the thickness of the many layers of dancers, from the soloists who are close to each other in terms of individuality and ability, to the group dance, which in itself is tough. Due to the size of the company' size, the performance was once discontinued, but in 2014, when the Tokyo Ballet celebrated its 50th anniversary, a revival performance was finally realized in Tokyo, co-produced with the Maurice Bejart Ballet. Since then, the "Ninth Symphony" by the two "brother ballet companies" has been a hot topic since then, with a total of 16 performances in Shanghai, Lausanne and Brussels.
And in 2020, in commemoration of the second Olympic Games in Tokyo, "Ninth Symphony" will return as the main event of the Ueno Forest Ballet Holiday, which conveys the charm of ballet to a wide range of people.

When choreographing Beethoven's work, there was neither a trick, a purpose, or a plot. Music supported and groaned on one's dance. Music was the only reason for the choreography.

This is a kind of dancing concert, and dance is expanding the scale of the music. Just like Syrah's text is bringing more to Beethoven's music. Here, dance continues to follow the composer's relaxed steps from anguish to joy, from darkness to light.

In the general sense of the so-called world, it's probably not a ballet work that's perfectly close to a song that should be one of the best in music. Rather, should it be said that it is related to the music work which is a common thing of the whole human race more deeply than the human being? In other words, they not only play and sing, but they also dance. Just as the Greek tragedy and primitive religious events were all so.

This is an expression in the fundamental sense.
