Whose hands is the crown of the singing battle over the bride? Wagner's Art Hymn
The New National Theatre and the Tokyo Cultural Center will be held for two years at the Opera Summer Festival 2019-20 Japan #8596&. Tokyo & #8596; World". The second series, following Turandot, will present a masterpiece full of festive feeling, Meistersinger of Nuremberg. The conflict between tradition and innovation in art, generous paternity, and the pure love and integrity of older men toward singing young daughters are detailed with exquisite music, and it is a popular performance that is frequently performed in opera houses around the world, while it takes a large number of people and long periods of time to perform. Through a drama full of humanity, Wagner's artistic hymns echo that respect for tradition and a willingness to do new things are both wheels that create the eternity of art.
Directed by German-spirited director Jens-Daniel Herzog. The performance will be produced in an international collaboration with the Salzburg Easter Festival, the Saxony State Opera And the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, and will be performed in Dresden after its premiere on April 13, 2019 in Salzburg. After the tokyo Bunka Kaikan performance and the new National Theatre performance, the performance is scheduled at the Hyogo Prefectural Arts and Culture Center.
Conductor is director of the performing artist Kazushi Ono, followed by the Performances in Salzburg and Dresden, followed by Adrien Elate as the role of Beck Messer, as well as the familiar Wagner Baritone Thomas Johannes Meyer at the New National Theatre, Tomislav Musek, Tetsuya Mochizuki, and Masako Hayashi. The Orchestra Pit contains the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, where Kazushi Ohno is the music director.
Storybr /> [Act 1] Nuremberg in the mid-16th century. At St. Catarina's Church, the knight Walter falls in love with Efa at first sight. The next day, Walter hears from Magdalene that the winner of Meistersinger's singing battle can make Efa a bride, and he also hears the attitude of the song from his apprentice, David, to participate in the singing battle. As Secretary Beck Messer and Efa's father, Pogner, appear, Walter asks to take the exam. Walter performs his own song in front of the parents who discuss tomorrow's battle. In the middle of the song, Beck Messer, who is still looking to marry Efa, begins to denounce him, and only Hans Sachs, a shoemaker, defends that there are many points to be admitted. Walter, who has been disqualified, is depressed.
[Act 2] Efa asks his father about the pattern of the knight, but he is speechless. When Zacks sings a love for Efa, she shows up and tries to hear about Walter's work. When Zax found out that Efa's love for Walter was real, he decided to move for her. Walter, who came to Efa, spoke with regret about the situation and urged him to elope. When Beckmesser tried to sing serenade under Efa's room, Zacks made a hammer sound and got in the way, and in the sight of Magdalene standing by the window in Fafa's behalf, David, who was in love with her, noticed and caused a big uproar. Zacks jumps out in front of Efa and Walter, who tried to leave the house in the commotion, pulls the knight into the house, and the daughter hands it over to her father.
[Act 3] The next morning. Zacks can't get away from his hesitation. As Walter tells the story he dreamed of, Zax encourages him to sing it. Beck Messer comes to visit me and makes Zax's song written down by Zacks his own. Efa, along with Walter, expressed his gratitude to Zax. Beck Messer begins to sing in the singing battle, but it doesn't go well, and the responsibility is put on Zax. Zacks makes Walter sing the same song, and everyone is moved by his singing. Zacks explains the weight of tradition to Walter, who has won, and everyone praises Zacks.
