Organizations Overview Junji Matsuoka of the graduate school after graduating from the Department of Instruments and Music, Tokyo University of the Arts. While in graduate school, he studied at the Hungarian National List Conservatory as a Rohm Music Foundation scholar for two years from 1993. He has won numerous awards in domestic and international competitions and auditions. In 1999, he was the first Japanese to win the Brahms International Music Competition, the first prize in the piano category, and the B?sendolfer Prize. He has performed with orchestras in Japan and abroad, including the New Japan Philharmonic, Sendai Philharmonic, Nagoya Philharmonic, Polish National Radio, and Moldova National Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition to solo recitals in various locations, his performances with Miclosh Pereni (Vc.), Joseph Lynn (Vn.) and Caterina Schott (Vn.) Abri Leviton (Va.) were all highly rated. In the spring of 2003, he was invited to the "Contemporary Music Festival" held in Kiev, where he performed with Kiev Solos and held solo and chamber music concerts, which received rave reviews.
