Remarks
Organizations Overview The Fujisawa Citizens' Symphony Orchestra (藤響) was established in 1959 mainly by alumni of the Prefectural Shonan High School Band and the Kinugawa Band, and celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2019. The original number of members was about 30, but now there are 100. Under the enthusiastic guidance of the late founder conductor Yoichiro Fukunaga, the foundation of the Fujisono Symphony Orchestra was laid, and the city has continued to work beyond the confines of a mere circle activity of music lovers with the aim of contributing to the uplifting of music culture in Fujisawa City.
has also performed with many conductors, singers, and choirs through a rich performance experience, such as entering the orchestra pit of most Fujisawa Municipal Opera. In recent years, the composition of the troupe has become older, and we are entering an epoch of generational change, but excellent young musicians have been nurtured in many parts. In the future, we will continue to work vigorously without losing the spirit of the beginning. Winner of the 44th Kanagawa Culture Prize in 1995.
