Remarks
Organizations Overview Yukiza was founded by the first Yuki Magosabur? in the 12th year of Hironaga (1635) of the Edo period.
is the only traditional "Edo Thread Puppet Puppet" theater company in Japan that has been designated as a "National Record Selected Intangible Folk Cultural Property" and "Tokyo Metropolitan Intangible Cultural Property" after more than 380 years since then.

Among the five zazas officially recognized by the Edo shogunate, the Kabuki Sanza (Ichimura-za, Nakamura-za, and Kawarazaki-za) inherited only the original name, and the remaining Satsuma-za also disappeared, and only Yuki-za survived as the current <-za>.
The current Yuki Magosabur? was named Yuki S?zabur? in May 1993 when the third generation Ry?gawa Funai attacked the twelfth generation Yuki S?zabur?.

The main activities of Yukiza include "new performances" by writing down and translating in addition to the historical "classical performances", and among the new works, actors and puppets compete in the same theater space, puppeteers play roles in the live body while using puppets, "classical" methods in the play, and "Edo photocopying" that is also transmitted from the Edo period ( painting and projecting on a glass plate) and so on, and continue to create a stage space unique to Yukiza.
